Rose M. “Ginger” Brown, 86, of Windber, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2026.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Cecilia Scharf; her siblings, Fred Scharf, Cecilia Jobe, and August Liehr; her beloved husband, Dr. William C. Brown Jr.; and her granddaughter, Mary Brown.
She is survived by her son, Scott A. Brown (Jerrianne Deyarmin), and their children Nicholas Brown and Emily Brown; her son, William C. Brown III, and his children William C. Brown IV and Kasey Brown (Michaela Yaggi); great-grandchildren; her brother, Frank Scharf; nieces and nephews, including special nieces Charmaine Greco and Patricia Liehr; and CJ Stemmler, devoted caregiver and friend who supported Rose and Scott’s family in her final years.
Throughout her life, Rose dedicated herself to caring for others, working as a secretary, housekeeper, preschool teacher, and companion to the elderly. She was a devoted member of The Church in Sutersville. Rose found joy in crafting, socializing with friends at the West Newton Senior Center, and playing bingo. A devoted Pittsburgh Pirates fan, she treasured attending the 1960 World Series.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Sutersville, 1683 Mars Hill Road, Sutersville, PA 15083 with Pastor Frank Rocco officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Meek & Dalla Valle Funeral Home of Windber.
